Those of us who are serious about our spiritual self, do things like recite affirmations each morning or evening. Some people even recite their affirmations morning, afternoon and evening.
I love uttering the words of my affirmations each morning. They are reassuring and I have noticed that after a period of time, some of the statements I have been affirming begins to manifest in my life while some haven’t yet.
Am not quite sure why some of my affirmations manifest, while others don’t but I have also noticed that whenever I have a goal, which I have written down on a sheet of paper, that, that particular goal always manifest.
This realisation in my personal life led me to think about others in similar situations as I. Some people have been reciting their affirmations for years but they are still yet to see it manifest.
So, why then are some affirmations manifesting and others don’t manifest? The answer is simply; affirmations are not goals. They might or not manifest. It all depends on your level of faith.
Let’s look at the definitions of an affirmation and a goal.
Affirmation: Is the act or an instance of affirming; the state of being affirmed or the assertion that something exists or is true.
Goal: The result or achievement toward which effort is directed; aim; end.
When you affirming, you are stating that the thing you are affirming is already in existence. And when you claim that something is already in existence, then there is no need to plan for it. It doesn’t have a deadline to become a reality but we all know how the human mind rejects things which are not in line with its core beliefs.
A person affirming a better financial state in his or her personal life could say something in the line of “I have £200,000 in my bank right now” or “My income is always increasing“.
These two affirmations are good affirmation but do the person truly believe those affirmations? Is there not some sort of resistance from such a person’s mind against the manifestation of that affirmation?
And is the person not too focused on his or her current reality which is likely to be a complete contrast to what he or she is affirming?
These are some of the obstacles that your daily affirmations might encounter subconsciously and because of these obstacles, your affirmations might never become a reality.
If you want something to truly manifest in your life in the shortest possible time, you must make it your goal. Goals have focus, plan and deadline. These are the things that make goal setting the differentiating factor between the successful and the unsuccessful.
Goals Forces You To Focus
If you have a goal to start a particular project; it could be to start a new business, buy a house, travel around the world or any other project, the fact that you have taken the time to define what your goal is; forces you to focus all your attention on it.
The spiritual law is that “energy goes wherever attention goes“. Once you define your goal and write it down on a sheet of paper, it starts to take up your attention instantly. The more you look at that goal, the more attention it takes, and the more you begin to think about it.
Earl Nightingale puts it perfectly when he said: “We become what we think about“.
When you have a goal, write it down on a sheet of paper, carry it with you wherever you and every time you have a spare minute or two, bring out that sheet of paper and look at it.
The more you look at your goal, the more you focus on it and the more you put yourself in the same resonance as your goal.
Goal setting forces your mind to focus all your energy on its attainment.
Every Goal Has A Plan Behind It
Another wonderful thing about having a goal is that it forces you to come up with a plan. Your wish will only become a goal when you have a plan behind it. Without a plan, your desire is just but a dream and nothing more.
If you say I want to have £200,000 in my bank account in 2 years from now. The question you must answer is; how? How will you make that happen? Which valuable service or product do you plan on offering society in exchange for that £200,000 which you want? Remember that we only earn money by offering society valuable services or products.
From my personal experience, I have realised that whenever I have a clearly defined goal, I never seem to have the perfect plan for its attainment but somehow a comprehensive plan to make it happen just magically comes together, even the resources needed.
The fact was that I was working on a plan (though vague and incomplete) to bring my goal into fruition, makes me open to suggestions and ideas from my higher self and spiritual forces.
For example, when I started writing this blog, I only had 4 topics but I did have a plan for what I want to do. I had a plan to buy a domain, hosting, build the website, write the 4 topics which I had and bring the whole thing together.
Because I had a plan which was incomplete, it was easy for me to be receptive to suggestions and ideas from higher spiritual sources. Now I don’t even worry myself about what I will write next. I just leave that task to a power greater than I.
In summary, have a plan for the attainment of your goal. The plan doesn’t have to be complete but you must start the process before greater powers will fill the knowledge gaps and lead the plan to completion.
Goals Have Deadline
A goal is a wish with a plan and a deadline. Anyone who has ever drawn up a plan to achieve anything, always put a deadline for the attainment of the end goal.
When you create a plan with a deadline for the attainment of your goal, it forces you to focus and direct your time and energy into achieving that particular goal.
You might think that because you have a deadline for the attainment of your goal it puts you under unnecessary pressure, but that’s a false assumption. A deadline is the main thing that turns a wish or desire into a goal.
To have a deadline, you must have a timeline for each stage of your goal and with a timeline; comes discipline and dedication on your part. Your discipline and dedication towards your plan are what will make your plan a success.
Affirmations are not goals which is why most affirmations never materialise.
When you affirm, you are claiming that something is already in existence, although this is great but if your faith is little, your subconscious mind will reject whatever you are affirming because the subconscious mind always reject whatever is not in line with the person paradigm and 90% of the time we are affirming something that is a complete opposite to our current life.
If you are a person of great faith, then all your affirmations are bound to manifest because “according to your faith be it unto you“. – Matthew 9:29.
But if you are a person of little faith, you will subconsciously resist whatever you are affirming, this is why your affirmations are not manifesting. You are the only person standing between your prayers and it answers.
My suggestion to you today is this, whatever you dearly want in your life, make such a thing a goal. Write your goal down on a sheet of paper. Carry it with you wherever you go and look at it whenever you have a chance. This is how “you become what you think about“.
Writing down your goal and looking at it isn’t enough. You must have a plan towards its attainment. The plan doesn’t have to be complete but you must at least have a vague idea about how you intend to achieve your goal.
Once you have written down your goal and created a plan for its attainment, you will notice that some forms of invisible forces are helping you to create a comprehensive plan for your goal.
These invisible forces will not just help you complete the plan for your goal, they will also lead you to places and people who will provide the resources needed to achieve your goal. This might sound crazy to some but I have done this multiple times and I can say it works every time. Try it, you won’t be disappointed.
