Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.
From the biblical quote above you might think that this article is religious or something about church tithes. Let me put your mind to rest now by stating the biblical verse quoted at the beginning of this article has nothing to do with religion or Christianity at all, neither is this article anything religious.
In our modern time, we have mistaken biblical personifications as persons and allegory as history. This is the case in Malachi 3:8 AKJV.
When you consider Malachi 3:8, the first question you must ask yourself is this: “Who is God?” After you have answered this question, you can then move on to this next question, which is: “What is tithes and offerings?”
The correct answers to these questions will help you understand why the application of the knowledge and understanding of the teaching of Malachi 3:8 will be the foundation of your prosperity and it’s also the core reason why anyone who has ever become rich achieved that status.
So, to help you understand this simple biblical verse of Malachi 3:8 and how it is the foundation of your prosperity, let’s break it down into three main parts.
(1) Who Is God
God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth. – John 4:24 NKJV.
As John 4:24 made clear, God is Spirit. As a Spirit, He is Omnipresence, Omnipotent, Omniscience and much more.
A simple way to put it is this: “God is everywhere and is in everything.” Saying this, you must internalized the Truth, which is God is Spirit and as such, He is spiritual. He manifest itself in everything and everyone.
You might still be saying: “Am confused. What if I want to talk to God?” Well, the simple answer is that, you already do that daily. God is your own wonderful human imagination. – Neville Goddard.
Everytime you are imagining, you are having a direct communication with God. Your imagination is God in motion. And since the thinker and the thought are one, this brings us to another Truth, which is, you and God are one.
Christ confirmed this Truth when He said: “I and my Father are one. – John 10:30 KJV.“
So, you and God are one. There is no separation between you and God. Since you cannot separate a man’s thought from him, so, you cannot separate yourself from God.
(2) What Is A Tithe
Tithe in the Old Testament is defined as the tenth part of agricultural produce or personal income set apart as an offering to God or for works of mercy.
In the Old Testament, the children of Israel gave tithes to the Levites and Priests but this practice was rendered obsolete with the birth and crucifixtion of Jesus Christ. This is the short explanation of tithes from a Christian perspective.
Although the practice of tithing was supposed to be obsolete in Christainity, majority of Christain churches today still take part in this practice. The reason for this is that it enriches the Church purse and the Church leaders but the congregation are usually left battling poverty and hardship on their own.
Looking at tithes or tithing as a New Thought person, it’s clear that it’s not something about Old or New Tastament, it is the foundation for the prosperity of the individual who truly understand its meaning. So, how then is tithing the foundation of prosperity
(3) Tithing – The Foundation Of Your Prosperity
First, you must understand this fundamental fact and it is that you and God are one. There is no separation between you and God. God is Spirit and He dwells in you. When you are imagining anything, that is God in motion. As far as you have the divine breath of life in you, you have God in you.
Once you have fully understand that you and God are one, the next thing you must understand is that YOU MUST TITHE. You must have an account where you pay yourself 10% of everything you earn each month. The book – The Richest Man in Babylon talked about this.
Starting today, everytime you get paid any money, you must pay yourself 10% first. This 10% you pay yourself is your tithe to God. And just like the biblical tithe, once you give it to God (Yourself), you are not allowed to take it and to spend it on anything else.
So, in a nutshell, right now you must open a savings account which you should label as TITHE. Each time you get paid any money, the first thing you must do is to take 10% of that payment and pay it into your TITHE Savings Account.
You cannot withdraw from this TITHE Savings Account. The only thing you can is this: When the annual interest from your TITHE Savings Account(s) exceeds 2.5 x your annual expenses, then you can start withdrawing the interest to pay for your personal expenses.
You can invest the funds in your TITHE Savings Account(s) in safe ventures such as real estate, gold and silver, so as to reach your target of generating annual interest which is two and half (2.5) higher than your annual expenses.
In whatever you are investing the funds from your TITHE Savings Account(s) in, please make sure that you never lose your capital or all your efforts will be in vain.
Even when you start withdrawing interest from your TITHE Savings Account(s), you must still continue to pay 10% of all of your income payments into it.
This simple rule of tithe and tithing is the foundation of prosperity. A lot of rich people follow this rule without knowing the spiritual law behind it.
Conclusion
Ask yourself this simple question: If I have started tithing a decade ago as it is advised in this article, how rich will I be today?”
Tithing is for your own financial wellbeing because it is the foundation for your prosperity. A person who can’t manage money can’t have money. The more money you can manage, the more money you can keep and the more money you can keep, the more money you can acquire.
For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance. – Matthew 13:12 KJV.
In summary, you must tithe, which is to save 10% of all income payments you receive in a purse or a special account. This practice will inadvertently transform you into a money magnet because “whosoever hath to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance.”
When you fail to tithe, you are robbing God, which in this case is you. When you rob God, you are buying yourself a one-way ticket to povertyland because lack of savings creates lack of money and lack attract more lack in the same manner that abundance attracts more abundance.
