A lot of people walk around talking about how unlucky they are in life. These people say this because the people around them have convinced them about something invisible but yet extremely powerful, called luck. They believe that some people were born lucky and others like them don’t just have any luck, hence; misfortune follows them wherever they go.
There is no such thing as luck. What people call luck is nothing but an effect. It is the result of a cause – an action. In one of my articles on this site titled “The Law of Causation“, I covered at great length how every action (cause) causes a reaction, although the reaction (effect) usually manifest long after the person has forgotten his or her deeds (cause).
God the Infinite Mind does not favour one man over another. The Universal Mind is not a double standard God. God is the Law and whoever plays according to the Law will get results according to the Law. For God (Law) is no respecter of persons. – Acts 10:34. In the eyes of God the Infinite Mind, everyone is the same. Justice is applied equally.
So if you have been walking around in the misguided belief that you’re born unlucky or bad luck waits for you at every corner, I want to assure you with every fibre of my being, that whatever is happening in your life right now is not happening because of the presence some invisible power called misfortune or bad luck. In life, it is by law not by luck, this is how things manifest. Work with the law and you shall eat the good of the land. Work against the law and you will experience hardship at every corner. Isaiah 1:19-20
Now that we’ve established the fact that there are no such things as luck and misfortune but what exists and will continue to exist until eternity is Cause and Effect. Let’s look what you can do to change your life experience from that of hardship to bliss and joy.
Real change in the life of an individual only comes from within. True change must start from the mind of the individual. For the mind is where the real person is and whatever state a person is in his or her mind, that’s the real person at that given moment. For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he. Proverbs 23:7 KJV. This leads us to the first subheading of this article.
It Starts In The Mind
Permit me to repeat the scriptural verse of Proverbs 23:7 KJV here: For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he. Any form of transformation must come from the heart.
If all your life you have been made to believe that you’re unlucky for whatever reason, the first and foremost thing you must do is to change your belief. The belief you must change is that is that you are either lucky or unlucky depending on what you believe. If you genuinely believe that you are unlucky, then you will continue to experience misfortune but if you convince yourself that you are lucky, then luck will meet you at every corner. So, it’s not about you being lucky or unlucky, it’s simply about what you believe.
There was a period in my life the people around me wanted to make me believe that am unlucky because according to them my father has had some hard luck in life, so I should be unlucky. The temporal period in which I believed this nonsense, I noticed I suddenly became unlucky in almost everything but one day something happened which changed my belief completely.
To keep the story short, I was in an interview which was going terribly bad. It got so bad that the interviewer asked me to leave the room in anger. While I was outside the interview room thinking about all my hard work and hard luck, something I heard in the church crossed my mind and it was the bible verse of “if thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth” – Mark 9:23.
It suddenly dawned on me that am not unlucky. In fact, if there is such thing as luck, then I am actually lucky because the majority of the people that wanted to be given the opportunity for an interview didn’t get that opportunity. The second thing that came to my realisation while I was outside that interview room was that my belief in what people have said about me likely to be unlucky is what is powering it and giving it the energy it’s using to manifest in my life.
So, right there outside of the interview room, I said to myself “I believe am lucky. I believe am the luckiest man alive. I believe that my good luck will turn this interview to my favour. I believe I shall celebrate the outcome of this interview“. Two minutes later the man who threw me out (verbally) of his office, asked me to come in. When I walked in, he looked at me as if someone different has just arrived. Indeed I had become someone different in a short space of time by simply changing my belief.
For you to effect any sort of change in your life, you must first change what you believe about yourself. You must believe that you deserve good things, good news, good life and everything good. You must really believe that you are not unlucky. For being unlucky is simply an effect of an action. This action could have been performed by you thinking you are unlucky or by you doing bad things to other people. Every bad luck you’ve experienced has come about from either your bad thoughts, words or action.
Actions Create Luck
I’m a greater believer in luck, and I find the harder I work the more I have of it. ― Thomas Jefferson
I want you to take a careful note of those people you regard as lucky. I mean really observe them. You will notice after a lengthy observation that there is one common denominator among them all, and that is “action”. They take action. Maybe they have the right qualification when the job opportunity came about which wouldn’t have been possible if they hadn’t studied for that qualification. Maybe it was just because they took a risk with a business venture or something else but they always take action.
You might be reading this and be saying to yourself, how does taking action create luck or success. I shall explain. Taking action in regards to anything in life shows believe in oneself. It shows you believe in the possibility that the action you’ve taken will lead to success.
The secret of how action creates success and ultimately lead to you being lucky is this: When you take action you have automatically switched your energy to a positive mode and when that action leads to success, you will remember it more than your previous failures.
Your memory will disregard all the failures you might have had in the past before that success. After this, all the energy you carry as a living being will be seeking out more and more success. And as we all know, “seek and you shall find”. The more you unconsciously seek out more success, the more success you will find in every area of your life. This will lead to you being “lucky” because, at every turn, you meet success. Write this down somewhere you can see it every day: Actions Create Luck.
They All Manifest By Law
Everything in life is governed by the laws of the Universe. The are several laws that govern our reality. Bob Proctor of Proctor Gallagher Institute spoke about the 11 Universal Laws in this video. Please watch it to understand the laws of the universe which affect your day to day life in both positive and negative ways.
Everything manifest by the law of the universe. You can find these laws in the bible and other spiritual books. It is beyond the scope of this article to cover all the spiritual laws that govern our reality in great detail but for the sake of further reading and study, I will list the 11 laws which Bob Proctor spoke about in his videos. Read about them. Study them in great detail and you shall understand that your current reality is simply a manifestation of how you have applied the Laws. Below are the 11 laws I want you to study further on:
(1) The Law of Thinking
(2) The Law of Supply
(3) The Law of Attraction
(4) The Law of Receiving
(5) The Law of Increase
(6) The Law of Compensation
(7) The Law of Non-Resistance
(8) The Law of Forgiveness
(9) The Law of Sacrifice
(10) The Law of Obedience
(11) The Law of Success
If something is going wrong in your life right now, it is not because you’re unlucky, it is because you’re disobeying one of these 11 laws.
The first thing you must understand is that everything that happens in our reality is based on laws. These laws don’t bend for anyone. It’s impartial and is effectively applied to all.
When an individual thinks or believes that somethings happen due to luck or lack of it, he or she is saying this based on ignorance. There is no such thing as luck. What you consider luck is a manifestation of the laws of the universe. There is only Cause and Effect. This means anyone can be lucky and anyone can be unlucky.
Looking at the 11 laws which I have listed in the previous section of this article, the majority of the people who claim to be unlucky are actually in violation of the first law; which is The Law of Thinking. On one hand, they prove the law is correct by believing they are unlucky, they thereby attract and manifest unlucky events in their lives and on the other hand they violate this law by harbouring unpleasant thoughts in their minds.
So, you are not born unlucky. Whatever is manifesting in your life is your doing and you can start correcting them starting right now. You can fix whatever is wrong in your life by understanding and apply correctly, the principles of the 11 Universal Laws stated in this article.
