For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.
– Matthew 12:37 KJV.
How do you write positive affirmations that actually work? This is a question a lot of people have been asking. This question stems from the fact that the majority of people who uses affirmations don’t get the result they desire or any result at all.
If you are one of these people, worry no more. Am here to help you write positive affirmations that actually work and get you the result you desire.
For those who don’t know, affirmation is the assertion that something exists or is true. So, when you say something like; I have a car. You are affirming that you genuinely have a car which belongs to you. So, whenever we affirm something, we are stating that thing is already in existence.
In the New Thought movement, we use affirmations to trick our subconscious mind into believing that we already have something that we desire, and when our subconscious mind accepts that we indeed have this thing we affirm, it will proceed to manifest it in our reality.
The size of the thing affirmed is irrelevant to the subconscious mind. Whatever the subconscious mind of a person accepts as true for that person, that exactly what it will manifest in the person’s life.
The problem with affirmations by the new set of Positive Thinking, Personal Development and New Thought Movement is that a lot of them don’t understand how to write positive affirmations that actually work.
Most people just use the I AM format to do their affirmations, with the belief that, that’s all that’s required to trick the subconscious mind into believing the state affirmed. Most of them have now discovered that the subconscious mind isn’t easily fooled or tricked.
God is the Law and everything in this reality works according to the Law. The Law will not bend or break for anyone. Fighting against the Law is futile, so don’t waste your time doing that, instead, you should strive to understand the Law. You can start by reading a great book called Working with the Law by Raymond Holliwell. This will help you understand how the Law operates.
For your affirmations to become reality you must adhere to the Law governing its use and application. Luckily for us, the law is simple and broken down into three main steps. Let’s consider them step by step.
What do you really want? Do you know what you want? The first thing you must do before writing any affirmation is to know exactly what you want?
If you want a car, do you know the make, model and year of the car? If you want a house, do you know the house type, size and location? The difference between “I want a two-bedroom apartment in the Kensington area of London” and “I want an apartment in London”, is the difference between success and failure.
Your affirmations will be a waste of time if your desire is broad and undefined.
Step 2: Make It Now
What do I mean by “make it now“? I mean when you’re writing your affirmations, you must make it clear to your subconscious mind that the desire is now in existence.
You must write the statement in a way that affirms to your subconscious mind that the desire is already in your possession.
Am aware that most people will struggle to understand this part, so, here are five examples of affirmations that are written in the “Now” spirit.
(1) I am so happy and grateful for the fact that I am now a money magnet.
(2) I am so happy and grateful for the fact that I am now earning £10,000 a month.
(3) I am so happy and grateful for the fact that I am now a healthy and happy person.
(4) I am so happy and grateful for the fact that I am now the owner of a Mercedes-Benz G Class 2020 Reg.
(5) I am so happy and grateful for the fact that I am now the owner of a three-bedroom house located in the Chelsea area of London.
As you can see, these affirmations are clear, specific, and they affirm that these things are already in the possession of the person affirming them.
The format I have found to be most effective is to use “I am so happy and grateful for the fact that I am now” and then specify what I desire.
I am so happy and grateful for the fact that I am now______________________________________________________
Step 3: Write And Recite Them Daily
A lot of people are looking for the lazy route to success. If you are one of those people, am sorry to tell you, that route doesn’t exist. There is a price to pay for everything. This includes using affirmations to get your heart desires.
In the spirit of laziness, some people write their affirmations once and then read them when they “feel like it“. If you’re one these people, you might never manifest anything doing this.
There is no shortcut to success. If you want to manifest your heart desires with the aid of affirmations, you must do the work required and the work required is daily writing and reading out of all your affirmations.
Every day for a minimum of 180 consecutive days, you must write down all your affirmations and then read them all out loud. By writing and reading out your affirmations daily for a minimum of 180 consecutive days, you are engraving those statements into your subconscious mind.
It’s only after your subconscious mind accepts your affirmations as true that the manifestation process will begin.
Conclusion
When you are affirming anything you desire, you are applying the formula laid down in Romans 4:17 which says: Calleth those things which be not as though they were.
This formula was used by God during creation. The only difference is that when God speaks or imagine anything, it becomes a reality immediately, while we (humans) have to wait for time to play its part in the whole creation process.
This formula works because I have used it to manifest many things. If you have forgotten formula here it’s again:
- Know what you want and be specific
- Write the affirmation in the present tense
- Write and recite the affirmations daily for 180 days
