Purpose is highly concentrated thought. All the mental energies of a person are concentrated towards the attainment of an object, realization of an ideal or the achievement of a goal. To put it simply, to have a purpose is to have life because a person without a purpose is empty, lost and without any drive. He or she will be unlikely to contribute anything meaningful to humanity in any shape or form. Wherever you find a man or woman without a purpose in life, there also you shall find a person who is unhappy and unfulfilled.
When a man or woman finds his or her purpose, it radiates within them. When you come within their presence, you can tell instantly that this person is going somewhere in life. They are working towards something. They are adding value to not just themselves but to everyone whom they come in contact with. You owe it to yourself to find your purpose in life. Just like the quote by Buddha said above “Your purpose in life is to find your purpose and give your whole heart and soul to it”. All successful men are men of purpose. I don’t mean men whom their source of success was family inheritance. And when I say “men” I meant both genders in this context. Using the phrase men is much easier when writing.
When you find your purpose in life and start working towards it, you become an advancing personality. When you become an advancing person or personality, more good things will be attracted towards you. If you’re a man that women don’t seem to have time for in the past, you will notice that they will start giving you attention, even chasing you. Better opportunities will be landing on your path with little or no effort from you. To have a purpose is really to have a life. For the sake of clarity, permit me to repeat the above statement in a different way; “when you find your purpose in life and put your whole heart and soul to it, every other thing you want in life will arrange themselves to suit you. This means other things you want will manifest in your life with little or no effort on your path.”
You might have read to this point and suddenly feel like you must have a purpose in the next 24 hours or that you already have a purpose in life. Hold your horses, my dear friend. It quite natural for anyone to suddenly want something after you make them aware of the benefits. If it was that simple to find your purpose, the majority of people will not be working in a job they despise. So, let’s do this properly.
How to find your purpose
For you to find your purpose in life you will need to go way back even to your childhood if you can. Think something you have always love doing NOT something you have always wanted to do. If “what you have always loved doing” and “what you always wanted to do” are the same for you then great but for a lot of people, this isn’t usually the case.
Again, think of something you’ve always loved doing. This thing, you probably first started doing it whenever you are daydreaming or talking to yourself. Then one day you did it in real life and you really loved it. You felt at home doing it. You noticed you were just “a natural” at it. You could do it for free if no one was willing to pay you for doing it. Even up till now you still daydream doing this thing at the highest capacity possible – i.e. a professional at it. This particular thing will not leave you alone. This thing that gives you goosebumps whenever you doing it in your imaginary world, this thing is your PURPOSE IN LIFE. This is what you came to this reality to do and you owe it to yourself to start doing it now. Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation. – 2 Corinthians 6:2.
Now that you finally figure out what your purpose in life is, you might be asking, are there conditions attached to my purpose? My answer is yes. Everything in life has conditions attached to them.
Conditions of Your Purpose
Once you figure out what your purpose in life is, the first and foremost thing you must do is to make sure that your purpose is “Good” and “Lawful” wherever you are living. If you live in Saudi Arabia and after reading this, you figure out that your purpose in life is to build ten mega churches in Mecca. Ideally close to the Kaaba, then let me tell you now that your purpose is unlawful and you probably have a death wish which is disguising itself as your purpose in life. Again, let me repeat; your purpose in life must be “Good” and “Lawful” wherever you happen to be living. Every country law is different. What is good in one country might be bad in another.
Secondly, your purpose in life must add value to you. Anything that requires you to give it your whole heart and soul to it must add value to you. If it doesn’t add value to you then it is not your purpose in life.
Thirdly, it must give you fulfillment and happiness. This very important. Your true purpose in life must leave you feeling fulfilled and happy. This is how you even know that this is your true purpose in life.
The three conditions above are the three MUST you must rightly tick for your purpose in life and after this, you must make sure that your purpose is fixed. A weak purpose is a waste of your time. When you figure out what your purpose is, that should be it. Don’t have second thoughts about it or become worried that it involves too many unknowns. When you get to the unknowns, you will find a solution at that junction.
When you start working towards your life purpose, you will likely experience hindrances, but you must not lose focus or faith. You must see every hindrance as a step towards the attainment of your goal.
