Stop being a victim of life troubles because your case isn’t special or different. Everyone you see is going through one struggle or the other. There isn’t anyone out there without a problem. We all have one problem or the other.
Having a problem is part of life. I personally believe that a life without problems and challenges is a boring life. So if you think or believe that you’re special because of whatever you are currently going through, I want to assure you that you are not.
So, have it in the back of your mind that troubles and challenges are part of life and it’s how we deal with these life troubles that matters. The only difference between those who are successful and those we call a failure is that successful people know how to deal with there life troubles.
If you haven’t been living in a cave for the past 10 to 15 years, you would have noticed how people have been advertising their life troubles on social media for anyone who cares to listen. Why are people advertising there life troubles and challenges on social media? Well, the answer to this simple question is not what you might expect but it is not a question I can answer in one sentence.
For better understanding, let’s look at this “being a victim” issue in more details below.
I have said it many times on this website that our thoughts dictate our actions and our actions determine our results in life. Do you know that most peoples thoughts are negative? Most people go on a negative thought-trip every day.
When anyone engages in negative thought-trips every day, what then happens is that these negative thoughts which usually involve the person being in a negative situation will transmute into real-life actions that will be in line with the negative thoughts simulations.
Why will anyone entertain negative thoughts against him/herself? It is because of the person’s ego. Whenever people hear the word “ego”, their minds quickly flashes to those show-offs on Instagram and Facebook. But the ego goes both ways.
Your ego feeds on your emotions and it simply does not care which emotions it’s feeding on. Both positive and negatives emotions are equally “good and useful” for your ego. For the sake of better understanding, look at the ego in more detail in the next subheading.
A lot of teachers in the New Thoughts Movement believe that the ego is the enemy of humanity. They believe that the ego is responsible for most frictions and fights among people. So statements such as “Ego is the enemy” or “The enemy within” are common on the internet.
I don’t completely accept this doctrine. Your ego is like a fire. If you are in control of a fire, you can use it to cook your foods, process metals, keep yourself warm and e.t.c. But when a fire is in charge, it destroys everything. I mean everything. This is the same as the ego.
When you are in charge of your ego, you will naturally have a higher respect for yourself and immediately a situation or partnership no longer serves you or make you happy, you can quickly exit it with dignity. Your ego helps you do these things.
But the problem comes when the ego is in charge. Like I said earlier in this article, that your ego doesn’t care if it’s feed negative or positive emotions, all it cares about is that it is feed an emotion.
Look around your environment right now. How many people are happy and content with life? Probably two out of every ten. So you don’t need to be smart to figure out that negative emotions are in abundance. Your environment is filled with sad, angry, frustrated and depressed people. That’s the sad reality of things.
When your ego is in charge it will always go for the “low hanging fruits” which in this case are the negative emotions. But it can’t just make you angry. It needs the help and cooperation of your thoughts because your thoughts dictate your actions and your actions determine your life results.
For your ego to get what it wants, it goes straight to your thoughts and all of sudden you notice that you are replaying an unhappy past event on your mind.
While replaying this past event, you suddenly connect it to the present things in your life. Before you know what’s going on, you start acting differently to people who haven’t done anything to you to deserve such treatment. Naturally, these people will react to the change in behaviour they are experiencing with you.
But it doesn’t end there. While you are acting different to people in your life, your thought is busy convincing you that you haven’t done anything to these people to deserve such and such behaviour from them. That, you are only reacting to there uncivilised and betraying behaviour.
At the end of the whole cycle, you will be convinced you are a victim in this vicious cold world. In all these what’s important to your ego is that the negative emotion is flowing in abundance.
This is just one example of how the ego gets its fix. I believe that 98% of the time when someone is complaining about one thing or the other, they subconsciously wanted to be in that exact situation because the negative emotions that negative situation provides them with feeds their ego but am not blaming them because consciously they are not aware of this.
I can’t make this any simpler than to let you know that you are your number one enemy. Your ego is feeding off your emotions both the good and the bad emotions.
When you see yourself as a victim in life, this negative belief feeds your ego. And if the thing is a permanent thing like being of short height or being ugly in terms of physical look, then your ego will work extra hard to be fed the emotions that victim mentality provides.
At every corner, your ego will work extra hard to reconfirm your belief of being a victim of circumstances that are outside your control.
Every day your ego and your pain-body are working extra hard to find ways to get there fix of negative emotions. If they can’t get it from your accepted belief of being ugly, short, dumb, stupid, unlucky, unhealthy and etc; they will get it by replaying past events in a negative light which will lead to you having a dislike towards someone who hasn’t really done anything bad to you.
Whatever negative thing that is going on in your life right now, accept that what has happened has happened. Think about what you can do now and in the future. And if you have always seen yourself as a victim of circumstances that are out of your hands, now will be a good time to stop being a victim because it doesn’t serve you.
You can’t change how you look (unless it’s obesity) or things that are out of your hands. You can only affect those things that are within your control. So forget about the past and stop worrying yourself about the things that are beyond your control.
Your case is not special. Other people have found themselves in your exact situation and many of them have gone on to live a wonderfully successful life.
