A desire accomplished is sweet to the soul.
Accomplishment is simply the act of carrying into effect or fulfillment. So, for something to be accomplished, there must be a desire to get it done. Real life is all about setting goals and accomplishing it. You could have a goal to read a new book every month or your goal could be to start a new business or it could be that you want to go to University and get a degree. Your goal could literally be anything, the only important thing is that you have a goal which will add value to you or it has the potential to add value to you no matter how it turns out.
A goal is a desire in a nutshell. Although some people might say they are two different things. Some would say a goal is a target and desire is a wish. I disagree with this. Until a goal is achieved it is just a wish, a desire. Which means they are the same thing.
Whatever your goal is, depending on how difficult it is, you are bound to experience some level of difficulty. And I want to tell you it is fine and normal to experience difficulty when you are trying to accomplish any meaningful thing. A lot of discoveries in science and medicine were only discovered after many difficulties and failures. Thomas Edison made 1,000 unsuccessful attempts at inventing the electric light bulb which we all enjoy today. When he was asked, “How did it feel to fail 1,000 times?” Thomas Edison replied, “I didn’t fail 1,000 times. The light bulb was an invention with 1,000 steps.”. This is how you should see every supposed “failure” on your path. It is simply another step towards the accomplishment of your goal. I always say in both my articles and in real life “that you either succeed or you learn.”. Adopt this mentality towards all your goals. The most important thing is that you are working in an efficient manner towards the realization of your goal. And when you finally achieve your goal, you will really then understand the scriptural verse “A desire accomplished is sweet to the soul.” – Proverbs 13:19.
There is nothing as fulfilling and satisfying as accomplishing your desire. The joy of accomplishment is like no other. It boosts a man or woman self-esteem. It increases your believe and confidence and gives you that sense of contribution. This sense of contribution is not just a personal feeling. It is actually the reality of things as they are; because “it is through accomplishment that man makes his contribution and contribution is life’s greatest reward.” – John Portman
So, my message to everyone toiling towards the accomplishment of their goal or those who have experienced setbacks, disappointments, frustrations or “failures” on the paths to the realization of their goals; NEVER GIVE UP. NEVER GIVE IN. No Retreat. No Surrender. Your success is around the corner. If Edison can fail 1,000 times and still become a success as far as the discovery of electric light bulb goes, then you have all the motivation you need to soldier on. And after you have accomplished your desire and you will, the angel of accomplishment is waiting eagerly to fill your heart with the joy of accomplishment. Believe me, when I say this, nothing tastes quite like it. Not even sex.
